A live 3D Earth that puts temperature for 260 cities, GDP per capita for 193 countries and every magnitude 4.5+ earthquake on one globe, with a page behind every dot.
The spark
Live weather, national economics and earthquakes each sit on different sites, maps and tables. I wanted to see the whole planet at once and go from a glowing dot on a globe to the numbers behind it in a single click.
What was built
I built one three.js globe with three layers: Stratum for live temperature and air quality, Meridian for World Bank indicators, and Signal for USGS earthquakes and NASA natural events. A scroll story flies a day and night Earth along one continuous camera path, and every city, country and quake gets its own page, live on orbitalspace.in behind Cloudflare.

- One shared globe engine drives three data layers
- Daily snapshot rebuild + ISR, browser polls each source at its own cadence
- Scroll camera on spline paths, one continuous flight with no seams
